Less than 4 weeks to take off...
As of today, July 6, I have only 30 days until I fly out of Portland and begin a new adventure in Prague. I am currently living in my old room at mom and dads house in Lake Oswego. It is forcing nostalgia as I frequently recall memories of my childhood, high school and college days. On the 4th my parents had family friends over for a day on the lake and BBQ. We were in the front of the house grilling and making onion rings and neighbor after neighbor strolled by stopping to say hello and visit, feeling the freedom to laugh and enjoy themselves on the beautiful sunny afternoon. It reminded me of the many 4ths growing up with neighborhood picnics, riding bikes, watching the boats parade, swimming, boating and watching fireworks on the lake. I suppose this is a good thing to expereince, part of the reflective process, before I move away from everything I have known so well for the past 21 years. Saying that is beginning to feel a little scary- exciting, but scary. I have been meditating on various Psalms the last few days. In Psalm 73 David writes: 'The Lord is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." I am trusting that this is why I feel at peace with my decision to move to Prague. I know that I am being led, trusting with my whole heart that these are my next steps. Only 30 days left...
